Andrew Binns announced as new CEO of Australian Communities Foundation

The Australian Communities Foundation (ACF) Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Binns as the next CEO of Australian Communities Foundation.

Andrew has deep expertise in community development and philanthropy. He is an accomplished senior leader with a successful track record leading programming, business development, fundraising and operational functions.

Andrew joins ACF after a long and varied career with World Vision Australia. His most recent role was Chief of Private Funding, where he was responsible for fundraising and activating giving across high net worth, corporate, trust and foundation, and bequest segments.

“Andrew has an inspiring vision for the future of Australian Communities Foundation with big achievable targets and great ideas,” said Fiona McLeay, ACF Chair Elect.

“He has a strong understanding and appreciation of the power of individual and corporate philanthropy – particularly within international development, climate and community development sectors – in creating impactful and innovative solutions to complex issues.”

Andrew will commence in the role on 22 July 2024 and looks forward to meeting with our giving community in the coming months.

“I’m honoured and enormously excited to be stepping into the CEO role at ACF, leading such a fantastic team and community,” Andrew said.

“For over 25 years, ACF has led the way in catalysing positive social and environmental change by making giving easy and accessible for people from all walks of life. I am looking forward to using my experience, relationships and knowledge to continue to drive this important mission forward, grow ACF’s impact, and build on the amazing leadership and vison of Maree Sidey.

“I can’t wait to lead the team and join Australia’s largest community of everyday philanthropists in creating a fairer and more sustainable Australia.”
