Australian Communities Foundation and Philanthropy Australia have partnered to provide the COVID-19 National Funding Platform to coordinate the philanthropic response to the coronavirus pandemic.

NATIONAL CRISIS RESPONSE FUND: COVID-19

Australian Communities Foundation has established the National Crisis Response Fund to enable an effective and collective response to the pandemic. The fund’s focus is on getting resources to those hard-to-reach places where existing government and community support isn’t going.

PHILANTHROPY AUSTRALIA – HOW SHOULD PHILANTHROPY BE THINKING?

This article from Sarah Davies, CEO of peak body Philanthropy Australia, sets out ten approaches and actions philanthropists can take in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

GIVE NOW – WAYS TO HELP

GiveNow has provided an overview of ways you can help organisations during the pandemic, including non-monetary donations and volunteering. This resource is also regularly updated with GiveNow campaigns providing support to groups affected by COVID-19.

GRATA FUND – ‘IN DEMOCRACY WE TRUST’ REPORT

This report from the Grata Fund outlines the impact of COVID-19 on Australian democracy and lists new laws and public health measures introduced in each jurisdiction. It lays out a roadmap for governments to maintain public trust through the management of the COVID-19 crisis, and should be of particular interest to funders with a focus on civil liberties.

CENTRE FOR SOCIAL IMPACT – ADDRESSING SOCIAL ISSUE AREAS IN THE CONTEXT OF COVID-19

The Centre for Social Impact is producing a series of fact sheets to address specific social issue areas in the context of COVID-19, including homelessness, loneliness, disability and digital inclusion.

The Funding Centre is compiling information about financial assistance available to not-for-profit organisations and community groups affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

XFACTOR COLLECTIVE & EQUITY TRUSTEES – RESET 2020

RESET 2020 is a program of free resources and advice to support the social purpose sector through 2020. Community organisations are invited to take a survey and list their informational needs to inform programming.

INSTITUTE OF COMMUNITY DIRECTORS – SAVE OUR SECTOR

The Institute of Community Directors Australia is giving the not-for-profit sector access to a library of capacity-building resources, including free help sheets, policy templates and more.

KODA CAPITAL – NAVIGATING NON-PROFIT ORGANISATIONS THROUGH THE COVID-19 CRISIS

This paper from wealth management firm Koda Capital draws on the experience of charity executives and shares the actions they have taken in response to the crisis, their approach to leadership and thoughts for the future.

SOCIALSUITE – COVID-19 SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT TOOL

Socialsuite is offering organisations its impact monitoring technology to help them monitor the impact of COVID-19 on the people they serve. The tool features an interactive dashboard showing key areas where your people are being impacted and how you can help.

This list of tips and tools from Google has been compiled to help not-for-profits use technology to navigate working remotely.

This list of resources has been pulled together by creative community management organisation Auspicious Arts Projects to help artists whose work has been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. The list includes resources on industry and government support, as well as health and wellbeing services.

BURNET INSTITUTE – KNOW-C19 HUB

The Knowledge Hub for COVID-19 (Know-C19 Hub) is the gateway to the Burnet Institute’s research findings, policy and technical reports, and also latest news about Burnet’s COVID-19 work.

DELOITTE – THE HEART OF RESILIENT LEADERSHIP: RESPONDING TO COVID-19

This report from Deloitte serves as a guide for how leaders and senior executives can support their organisations throughout the pandemic. It sets out five fundamental qualities of resilient leadership that will help organisations emerge stronger.

KALDOR CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL REFUGEE LAW – COVID-19 WATCH

The University of New South Wales’ Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law is producing a series of articles that provide expert analysis on COVID-19’s impact on refugees and other forced migrants. This resource will be particularly valuable for funders interested in supporting refugees and people seeking asylum throughout this crisis.

SEER – FREE ACCESS TO STANDARD PLAN & FINANCIAL VULNERABILITY MAP

Data analytics start-up Seer is providing free access to its standard plan for the rest of 2020. Seer’s Financial Vulnerability Map tool will be particularly useful for both funders and community organisations working to identify where support is most needed throughout the crisis.

TINA DIXSON – RESOURCES FOR LGBTIQ+ PEOPLE SEEKING ASYLUM & REFUGEES

This list of resources from academic activist, Tina Dixson, collates materials available for LGBTIQ+ people from asylum-seeking and refugee backgrounds.

WALKLEY FOUNDATION – USEFUL COVID-19 RESOURCES

The Walkey Foundation is compiling a running post of useful resources for journalists. The list includes resources for tackling disinformation and misinformation in relation to the pandemic.

THE WORKSHOP (NZ) – HOW TO TALK ABOUT COVID-19

New Zealand-based research organisation, The Workshop, has developed a guide to help organisations build their narratives around COVID-19 in ways that will help people respond collectively and respectfully to the current crisis.
