100 Story Building

100 Story Building is a creative writing centre and social enterprise supporting children and young people to build creativity, artistic expression, literacy and confidence through storytelling. Our Mission is to provide opportunities for the most marginalised children and young people in our community to build the literacy skills, confidence and sense of belonging that are fundamental to future success.

Since 2009, we have worked with more than 55,000 young people across Melbourne, regional Victoria and beyond. Through playful, high-impact programs, from community events, small and large festivals, school incursions / excursions to after-school workshops and digital learning, we create spaces where young people can experiment, take creative risks and discover the power of their own voice.

Our flagship initiatives include Story Hubs, which embed creativity and literacy within school communities via Teacher Professional Learning and co-designed workshops with students. Our Early Harvest program is a youth-led publishing program where Year 5–6 students write, edit and publish a professionally produced anthology distributed nationally. These programs build real-world skills, strengthen confidence and celebrate young people’s ideas and identities.
