Organisation Summary

Andale School is a small, not-for-profit independent primary school in Kew, Victoria, supporting around 30 students with complex learning needs, including hearing loss, dyslexia, language disorders and other conditions that make mainstream classrooms hard to access.

Founded in 1981, Andale takes a whole-child, strengths-based approach: small classes, high staff-to-student ratios, and a team of teachers, education support staff and allied health professionals, including speech pathology, occupational therapy and psychology, working together around each child.

Their programs include social-emotional learning (Social Stencil), a therapy dog program, the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden, and specialist sport, art and performing arts, alongside a dedicated literacy and numeracy curriculum.

Andale’s mission is to create a safe, respectful and responsive learning environment where primary-aged children with complex learning needs can engage in learning, build confidence and thrive.
