Annie North Inc

Annie North is a not for profit specialist family violence service supporting women, children and young people escaping domestic and family violence. Based in Bendigo, Central Victoria, we provide crisis refuge, transitional housing and outreach support across the Loddon region and beyond, with a statewide catchment.

Our services operate within a feminist, rights-based framework and are trauma-informed, prioritising safety, recovery and long-term wellbeing. We support victim-survivors from all backgrounds, including First Nations communities, culturally and linguistically diverse women, women with disabilities and those facing additional barriers such as homelessness or visa insecurity.Annie North also delivers therapeutic programs and after-hours crisis response services, ensuring support is available when it is most needed. Through evidence-based practice and advocacy, we work to challenge systemic barriers and create pathways for women and children to rebuild their lives free from violence.

Annie North is primarily funded through government support, particularly the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, which enables delivery of critical frontline services. In addition, we hope to supplement this funding through philanthropic grants, community donations and partnerships with local organisations and businesses. Contributions from the community play a vital role in enhancing our services, supporting innovation and filling gaps not covered by core funding. Additional grant opportunities would allow us to build our capacity to invest in new programs, improve service delivery and respond to emerging needs in the community. This diversified funding approach ensures Annie North can continue to provide responsive, inclusive and high-quality support to victim-survivors of family violence.
