Athletes For Hope Australia

At Athletes for Hope Australia, our mission is to inspire and connect athletes, charities and communities to create impact together.

Whilst there has long been an important focus on the physical and mental health benefits of participating in sport, now is the time for sport to make an even greater impact in the community.

Whilst 82% of Australians believe that sport has the power to help make a different in society, only 10% of Australians believe that sport has been effective in doing so. Athletes for Hope Australia exists to bridge this gap between an athlete’s potential and actual social impact.

Your support will fund a series of workshops for emerging and elite athletes to commence their journey of community impact. The purpose of these workshops is to inspire and provide a framework to consider how the athletes can impact the communities that matter to them.
As part of these workshops, athletes begin to create an Athlete Impact Plan. Developed by AFHA, this is an actionable learning tool to frame an athlete’s journey around community service.

Through our work, we will benefit:
– The Community: By partnering with athletes to educate, empower and inspire them to create impact, the community, and a significant number of individuals, will benefit from the activities, engagement, reach and positive role modelling.
– Not for Profit Organisations: By assisting in matching and guiding partnerships between athletes and not for profit organisations, impact will be created through the additional reach, contribution, resourcing and profile of the athletes.
