Organisation Summary

In Bayside Brisbane, a woman in crisis can find free food. She can access free healthcare. She can receive free counselling, free period products, even a free haircut. But when night falls, she has nowhere safe to sleep.

Bayside Shelter Inc is a community development initiative founded by dedicated, experienced local residents to close this gap. Following a year of engagement and scoping, they have formed a service delivery model that uses existing housing stock and wraparound support services to move women through crisis and transitional housing, with the goal to graduate into private rentals.

This work has buy in from the local community, including government representatives and the business and development sectors. Bayside Shelter Inc need a Case Manager and a Property Coordinator before they can launch and are working hard to secure funding for those roles, with the hope of launching in late 2026.
