Boomerang Alliance stops plastic pollution at the source by changing the systems that produce it. Every day, 2.7 million single-use cups are thrown away in Australia. Only 13% of our plastic is recycled. The rest ends up in landfill, in our waterways, in the food our children eat. The damage is happening now.

Since 2003, Boomerang Alliance has united 56 environment groups and over 40,000 supporters to make reuse the norm and hold producers accountable. Through stronger laws, bans on unnecessary plastics, and national reuse programs, Boomerang Alliance works with governments, communities and businesses to shift the system.

Today, Boomerang Alliance is driving the next phase: scaling reuse systems nationwide. Through Choose to Reuse, they work directly with businesses and communities to replace single-use packaging and advance national packaging reform that puts responsibility on producers.
