Buene Hope Foundation

Buene Hope Foundation Ltd is an Australian registered international charity founded in 2013 to restore dignity, hope, and self-reliance among vulnerable communities across Africa. The Foundation works in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and Burundi through sustainable, community led programs focused on child protection, women’s empowerment, healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability.

Our work is built around four integrated program areas:

WIN (Watoto in Need): Protecting vulnerable children through Buene House of Children, educational support, nutrition initiatives, and child development programs.
WOP (Women Pamoja): Empowering women and girls through Buene Pads, menstrual health education, skills development, and economic opportunities.
UZIMA Initiative: Expanding access to quality healthcare, essential medicines, and safe water through Buene Hospital (Uzima Santé) and Maji.
Buene Green: Promoting climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and green livelihoods.

The Foundation’s flagship projects include:

Buene Pads which addresses menstrual poverty through reusable sanitary pads and education.

Buene House of Children providing shelter, education, healthcare, and family-based care for vulnerable children. Buene Hospital improving access to healthcare in underserved communities, and Buene Chronicles producing educational books and comics that empower children and families through knowledge.

As a registered Australian charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, the Foundation is committed to strong governance, accountability, and measurable impact while working alongside local communities to create lasting change.
