For the past 24 years Christ Church Mission has provided support as a registered charitable organisation, to vulnerable people in the community. This has involved food relief, support programs, and access to services that meet the needs of vulnerable people. Although most attendees are from the St Kilda area, 25% come from other suburbs around Melbourne. They operate from a Community Centre building in St Kilda, well-positioned on Acland Street. Christ Church Mission has been supported by many funding bodies, and businesses with in-kind support throughout its history.
Currently Christ Church Mission provides more than 900 food relief packs to vulnerable people each month. They also operate a weekly dinner for more than 150 vulnerable people. Christ Church Mission facilitates numerous programs throughout the week, including gardening, from an established market garden beside the Community Centre, and other support programs. They also support numerous local organisations who meet each week at the Community Centre.
