Organisation Summary

Chupis aims to improve the health, well-being, and opportunities of women and girls by increasing access to culturally safe menstrual health education and sustainable menstrual products. Their goal is to break down the barriers created by period poverty, stigma, misinformation, and limited access to health resources, particularly for First Nations communities and other vulnerable populations.

Through community-led workshops, yarning circles, educational resources, and the distribution of reusable menstrual products, Chupis empowers women and girls with the knowledge and confidence to understand their bodies, manage their menstrual health, and make informed decisions about their wellbeing. They believe that every woman and girl deserves access to accurate health information, dignity, and the resources needed to participate fully in education, employment, sport, and community life.

A key focus of their work is ensuring programs are culturally appropriate, designed in consultation with communities, and delivered in ways that respect local knowledge, traditions, and lived experiences. Chupis are committed to building local capacity by training community members and supporting organisations to deliver programs independently.

Ultimately, Chupis strives to create lasting change by improving health literacy, reducing menstrual stigma, increasing access to sustainable products, and empowering communities to lead conversations about women’s health for future generations.
