Confit Pathways

Confit Pathways builds pathways out of the justice system, so young people can thrive in community. We employ mentors with lived experience of incarceration to deliver fitness, wellbeing and mentoring programs inside Youth Justice Centres across New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria.

Our mission is to empower young people at risk of, or in, custody through fitness and mentorship, driving personal growth, stronger communities and fewer young people returning to custody.

Most young people in detention carry deep trauma, unstable housing and interrupted education. Custody often deepens that disconnection and fuels reoffending rather than preventing it. More than 40% of the young people we work with identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Our mentors have lived what these young people are living. That earns trust no credential can buy. Breaking down barriers with fitness, and personal story telling.

In 2025 we delivered 187 sessions across eight Youth Justice Centres, reaching 442 young people, around half of all young people in custody nationally (AIHW, December 2025). Of those surveyed, 94% felt more resilient, 97% believed in their potential, and 98% were ready to pursue employment or study on release.

Our priority now is extending our model into adult correctional centres, targeting 18-25 so support continues rather than stopping at the gate. Your donation funds our mentors, program delivery and travel to the centres that need us.
