Organisation Summary

Connected Families Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation providing free, trauma-informed therapeutic and family support services across South-West Queensland. Their mission is to keep children safe, supported, and connected with their families. They provide tailored therapy, psychosocial education, and child and parenting support that strengthens family functioning and reduces the likelihood of statutory intervention.

Connected Families Foundation was established to address a significant service and affordability gap affecting vulnerable children and families in regional communities. Many families experiencing trauma, domestic and family violence, disability, mental health challenges, or parenting difficulties cannot access timely support due to financial barriers, limited service availability, lengthy waitlists, and restrictive eligibility criteria. It is well documented, that without early intervention, these challenges can escalate into family breakdown, child protection involvement, and poorer long-term outcomes for children.

The Connected Families Foundation multidisciplinary team brings expertise in child protection, psychology, social work, counselling, and family support, enabling them to deliver holistic, responsive services tailored to each family’s needs. Unlike many organisations in this sector, support is not restricted to families already in crisis. Connected Families Foundation recognise that early intervention is critical and accept referrals from schools, community organisations, allied health professionals, statutory agencies, and families themselves.

Funding will enable Connected Families Foundation to deliver free therapy, counselling, family support, parenting programs, and psychosocial education throughout Toowoomba, Dalby, Kingaroy, and surrounding communities. It will support qualified staff, service delivery, and operational costs, ensuring vulnerable families can access support regardless of their financial circumstances and helping build safer, stronger, and more connected communities.
