Days for Girls Australia

Days for Girls Australia is a volunteer-led organisation with around 80 teams across Australia. Their volunteers create washable menstrual health Kits for women and girls without access to period products.

Menstrual health education is a vital part of their work, providing girls and women with practical knowledge about their bodies, menstruation, hygiene and reproductive health, helping build confidence and challenge the stigma and misinformation surrounding menstruation. Investing in women and girls creates benefits that extend beyond the individual, strengthening families and communities and contributing to positive, long-term change. Boys and men are included, helping to increase understanding and break down taboos.

Since 2012, Days for Girls Australia has distributed more than 389,000 Kits across 66 countries, supported by valued distribution and transport partnerships. In 2024/25, 40,342 Kits were provided across 24 countries, including 6,997 distributed to women and girls in Australia.

Their vision is to be recognised as a leader in providing access to sustainable menstrual health solutions that advance menstrual equity – Every Girl. Everywhere. Period.

Days for Girls Australia is entirely volunteer run. Teams raise funds needed to purchase fabric, equipment and Kit components. However, delivering their work also requires investment in operational and governance infrastructure that supports volunteers, develops partnerships and maintains appropriate systems and accountability. These essential functions are not cost-free. Philanthropic investment can, therefore, make an impact at every level of the organisation.
