GROW is the premier provider of intentional peer to peer support to promote hope, mutual help and recovery for good mental health for people throughout Australia. Our Mission is to enable people and communities to grow, recover and maintain good mental health. Our Values are Personal Responsibility, Personal Value, Mutual Help, Friendship and Community. Our programs help people to help themselves, to overcome obstacles and to live a life full of meaning, hope and optimism.

GROW’s programs are directly informed by consumer experience, ensuring our peer to peer group programs are evidence-based and relevant. We are proud to be a community of excellence in consumer engagement, mutual help and peer support.

The evidence (including repeated external program evaluation) shows that this co-designed model of intentional peer to peer support is highly effective – not only in mental health but much more broadly in the context of overall wellbeing and building strong and thriving communities. Through participation in GROW’s programs, people are better able to manage daily activities, rebuild and maintain connections, build social skills and participate in education and employment. These are the desired outcomes from community led, non-clinical psychosocial supports and the service users of GROW have been achieving these outcomes for almost 70 years.

Our outcomes via a recent survey:
– 89% of participants would refer others to GROW
– 86% of participants rated the support they receive as excellent or very good
– 73% of participants reported GROW having helped overcome suicidal thoughts
