Founded by leading clinicians and supported by generous philanthropy, Head and Neck Cancer Australia was created to fill a critical gap in Australia’s cancer system – a national organisation that people affected by Head and Neck Cancer could trust. From the outset, Head and Neck Cancer Australia has been shaped by clinical expertise and people with lived experience, bringing patients, carers and clinicians together to build a voice and community of support grounded in evidence, compassion and hope.

Since 2016 Head and Neck Cancer Australia has grown into Australia’s trusted national charity for Head and Neck Cancer, improving education, connecting patients and carers, shaping public policy, and striving for better outcomes for everyone affected by Head and Neck Cancer by ensuring lived experience drives real change.

Their purpose is to ensure no one faces Head and Neck Cancer alone by providing access to support, information, education, and advocacy. They represent and support more than 5,600 Australians who are newly diagnosed each year, and over 18,000 people who are living with debilitating and long-term impacts of this cancer across Australia.

Philanthropy enables Head and Neck Cancer Australia to:

• raise awareness of Head and Neck Cancer nationally to increase early diagnosis and encourage prevention,
• increase access to a trusted library of Head and Neck Cancer resources and specialist support for people when they need it most, and
• strengthen Head and Neck Cancer Australia’s role as the national voice for the Head and Neck Cancer community.

As they enter their second decade, Head and Neck Cancer Australia is more determined than ever to champion equity, improve outcomes and drive meaningful, system-level change.
