Holy Fools

Every day, more people including children and families face homelessness in our communities due to factors beyond their control, such as trauma, abuse, mental health issues, poverty, and systemic failures. Losing housing can cause fear, isolation, and stress, leaving individuals with few options to rebuild their lives. Without stable shelter, children’s education often suffers, adults find it challenging to maintain jobs, and both physical and mental health risks increase quickly. These problems don’t only affect the homeless or those sleeping in cars they affect all of us. Currently, over 122,000 Australians are homeless each night, highlighting our failure to ensure the basic human right to safe, affordable housing.

Holy Fools helps individuals including children and families in the Yarra Ranges who are experiencing homelessness or housing stress. Many are living rough or in unstable conditions and often lack access to, or are unaware of, essential support. We are a grassroots nonprofit organisation supporting individuals, families, and children experiencing homelessness and trauma by creating community, providing material aid, food, self-care resources, and advocacy.
