Jirrahlinga Wildlife Sanctuary

Jirrahlinga Wildlife Sanctuary has been rescuing Australian native animals for a total of 50 years, firstly in their sanctuary in Barwon Heads and now in Chewton Victoria, which was established over 20 years ago.

Chewton is home to over 120 Dingoes, and many other species of Australian wildlife including reptiles, birdlife, koalas, echidnas, and small mammals. They provide educational programs to the public, during daily wildlife encounters with engaging educational programs run by trained rangers, inspiring visitors of all ages to connect deeply with Australian wildlife, building awareness and understanding.

Jirrahlinga Wildlife Sanctuary foster healing connections between wildlife and people in the community with disabilities, special needs, and the elderly, by creating gentle, healing experiences under supervision of trained rangers.

Jirrahlinga Wildlife Sanctuary’s Junior Rangers Programs are very popular and encourage young people to become involved with, and gain positive connections with Australian Wildlife. They enjoy many visitors from Overseas and host overseas students for work experience.

As a not-for-profit, Jirrahlinga Wildlife Sanctuary proactively support the long-term sustainability and protection of Australia’s native wildlife and their habitats.
