Keep On Creating Hope

Keep On Creating Hope Australia (KOCH) is a registered Australian charity that provides financial, strategic and governance support to Keep On Creating Hope (KOCH) Nairobi, a locally led organisation working with children and families in Korogocho, one of Kenya’s largest informal settlements.

Our vision is to empower children and families to create hopeful, independent and sustainable futures. We achieve this by combining education, nutrition and community development with long-term economic opportunities.

Since 2020, KOCH has grown from supporting 120 children during the COVID-19 pandemic to providing weekly educational and food support for approximately 500 children. Every Saturday, children receive a nutritious meal and participate in structured learning, leadership and creative programs that complement their schooling.

We believe lasting change comes from empowering communities rather than creating dependence. Led by local people with lived experience of Korogocho and supported by KOCH Australia, our next priority is to strengthen families through women-led community enterprises that create sustainable incomes, improve children’s educational outcomes and reduce long-term reliance on charitable support.

Funding will help expand these initiatives while strengthening governance, program delivery and impact measurement. By investing in local leadership, education and economic opportunity, KOCH is building a model that enables families to become increasingly self-reliant while creating lasting, community-led change.
