Kintsugi Heroes is a small, respected, and rapidly growing not-for-profit organisation named after the Japanese art of repairing broken objects to make them more beautiful. Through Kintsugi Heroes, individuals share their personal stories of overcoming adversity, providing hope and inspiration to others facing similar challenges.
Our mission is to foster love, understanding, compassion, and connection through storytelling. We achieve this through events, podcasts, books, and photographic exhibitions.
Our programs cover various social themes, including natural disasters, migrants/refugees, men’s wellbeing, connecting seniors, and resilience through our relationship with animals.
The stories shared through Kintsugi Heroes offer a treasure trove of wisdom from inspirational Australians. By publicly sharing their stories, they demonstrate courage, self-acceptance, kindness, and love. As author Brené Brown said, “Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.”
Kintsugi Heroes’ work provides healing, empowerment, a sense of community, love, and understanding. In a world fraught with fear, hatred, prejudice, and insecurity, the stories shared by Kintsugi Heroes are timely and impactful, creating a ripple effect that inspires others to overcome their challenges while promoting a culture of empathy and support.
