MITS is a school and boarding program for Indigenous students from remote and regional communities.
Each year, 22 students join MITS in Year 7, and spend two years in our MITS classrooms before transitioning into scholarships at Melbourne Pathways Schools from Year 9 onwards. Our boarding houses are located on Richmond Hill, and our classrooms are located on Church Street, with plans to return to our ‘home’ at the Richmond Football Club in 2027.
Celebrating 10 Years in 2026, we have seen 268 students come through MITS. We currently care for nearly 90 students in Years 7-12 across our four boarding houses on Richmond Hill, creating a connected community of Indigenous students in the heart of Melbourne.
We now enter a period of significant growth, where we will increase our Year 7 annual intake (currently turning away 4 in 5 applications), strengthen the program for our students in Pathways Schools, and explore a formal alumni/community program to support our graduates.
Through MITS, our students go on to lead lives full of choice and opportunity as we aim to create Confident Learners, Proud Communities and Strong Futures.
