Target Population

Maribyrnong and Moonee Valley Local Learning and Employment Network was established in 2001 with the purpose to improve education, training and employment outcomes for young people with a priority of those experiencing disadvantage, discrimination, social isolation and from low socio-economic backgrounds.
They deliver a number of programs including:
- School to work: engaging over one thousand secondary school students in work experience placements and industry immersion activities.
- Youth Employment Pathways Program: a six-week intensive pre-employment program working with long term unemployed young people to prepare and gain employment. This program had an amazing 89% employment rate.
- Youth Employment Pathways Program: a nine-month tailored 1:1 mentor matching and support program with trained volunteer mentors supporting young people to prepare for and gain employment or further education. Program evaluation recorded a 70% employment outcome rate.
- Supported Pathways Program: a short intensive program for students with a disability in a mainstream school setting preparing for work experience.
