Keeping kids safe is at the heart of everything we do. OzChild’s vision is for all children and young people (CYP) to be safe, respected, nurtured and reach their full potential. For more than 170 years we’ve been supporting those experiencing significant challenges, by strengthening families, providing healing, and preventing abuse and neglect.

We believe every child deserves the chance to shine in the hope the children of today lead us to a brighter tomorrow. That includes supporting their educational participation, community engagement and cultural connection.

Through the delivery of evidence-based and evidence-informed programs and services which respond to different needs; from those that focus on prevention and family preservation, right through to complex, high-impact interventions, we are committed to achieving better outcomes by doing what works for each child, each young person, and each family member.

OzChild supports CYP in foster or kinship care and works to keep families together where possible through the delivery of evidence-based programs and services aimed at strengthening and repairing relationships. Our work supports some of the most vulnerable CYP in our community.

OzChild’s emphasises safety, permanency of placements and well-being for CYP through its programs, which are split across two spheres of operation:
– In-home care providing foster care and kinship care service and support, including evidence-informed therapeutic programs designed to support CYP in care and their carers;
– Prevention and Strengthening Families activities through the delivery of a range of case management and evidence-based programs aimed at diverting CYP from Out-of-Home Care.
