Rewiring Australia is a non-profit, independent, non-partisan organisation dedicated to representing people, households and communities in the energy system. We empirically demonstrate and communicate the cost savings, emissions reductions, and energy system benefits of electrification.

Rewiring Australia is making practical climate progress by enabling households and communities to take direct action today while advocating for the system-wide changes needed for our zero-emissions future.

Our purpose: To accelerate emissions reduction by making it easier for Australian households, businesses and farms to electrify everything.

Rewiring Australia addresses the critical challenge of transitioning Australia’s energy system away from fossil fuels. Our comprehensive approach spans education, advocacy, research, and implementation. We are uniquely positioned through our data-driven methodology and established relationships with government, industry, and community stakeholders.

Our current priorities include:
– Mass education campaigns about the economic, health and environmental benefits of electrification
– Direct advocacy with all levels of government and regulatory bodies to reform energy systems
– Data-driven research combining energy flows, economic, demographic and emissions data
– On-the-ground community electrification initiatives working directly with local councils
