Saltbush Social Enterprises is a not-for-profit organisation that was developed in response to the need for grassroots opportunities to achieve self-determination for marginalised Territorians.
They respond to identified critical service gaps by offering practical, innovative solutions to:
- physical, emotional, and social wellbeing needs,
- opportunities for personal growth and stability,
- education, employment training and business development aspirations of Aboriginal Territorians.
Saltbush Social Enterprises work across the regions in the NT co-designing programs with local Aboriginal people to ensure they are culturally safe and delivered sensitively. The community identified gaps in services currently are programs for youth at risk, social and emotional wellbeing programs, living skills, literacy with bridges back to education, and training in mentoring and leadership for young people and adults.
All programs and activities they deliver have an underlining focus on providing person centred, culturally appropriate service.
