Still Aware is Australia’s first not-for-profit charity solely dedicated to stillbirth awareness and prevention. It was founded by Claire Foord, who tragically lost her daughter, Alfie, to stillbirth at 40 weeks of pregnancy despite having a relatively textbook pregnancy. Determined to prevent other families from experiencing similar heartbreak, Claire established Still Aware to drive change in how stillbirth is understood, spoken about, and prevented.
The purpose of Still Aware is to reduce the rate of preventable stillbirth through proactive education, awareness, advocacy, and community engagement. We are committed to educating expectant parents and healthcare professionals on stillbirth prevention strategies, advocating for improved and respectful pregnancy care, and challenging outdated practices that no longer serve the best interests of families or their babies. By empowering individuals with knowledge and opening up conversations around stillbirth, Still Aware aims to improve pregnancy outcomes and save lives.
Still Aware receives no government funding. We are proud to say that every cent donated goes directly toward the cause of preventing stillbirth. As a not-for-profit charity, we are deeply appreciative of the support we receive from community-minded organisations and individuals who help us continue our life-saving work.
