The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Western Australia (RSPCA WA) is the state’s oldest, largest and leading animal welfare charity. It is a Company Limited by Guarantee, registered with the ACNC and governed by a professional Board of Directors.
RSPCA WA’s aim is to protect all animals from cruelty by actively promoting public awareness about animal welfare and advocating for improvements in the way people relate to animals. We work with state and local government, community groups and industry to help animals. Our RSPCA Inspectors enforce the Animal Welfare Act 2002 protecting animals from cruelty, receiving more than 16,000 cruelty complaints every year, prosecuting offenders and rescuing animals from dangerous situations.
We work with young people and the community to educate about the prevention of cruelty and continuously strive to change generational attitudes towards animals. Our shelter rehabilitates and rehomes surrendered, seized and abandoned animals, with more than 200 animals under our care on any given day.
