Whittaker’s Wings provides comfort and practical support to families across Australia grieving the stillbirth of their baby. Through thoughtfully donated care packs for both mothers and fathers, experience-led education for maternity healthcare professionals, and the gentle encouragement of family-led after-death care, they help create space for meaningful, unhurried time with their baby during the most difficult days of their lives.
Whittaker’s Wings was founded following the devastating stillbirth of the founders’ beloved daughter, Whittaker, in July 2021. From this loss, a vision emerged—to increase awareness across Australia of the deeply meaningful and healing role of family-led after-death care. They aim to support a cultural shift that empowers families with knowledge, choice, and confidence to create a personal, dignified, and cost-conscious farewell for their baby.
Whittaker’s Wings also recognises the immense responsibility carried by midwives and maternity healthcare teams, who provide time-critical care and support to parents in profoundly traumatic and overwhelming circumstances. Through their work, Whittaker’s Wings seek to walk alongside them—offering guidance, education, and resources that strengthen compassionate, family-centred care.
