Women’s Community Shelters’ mission is to help build a world where every woman and child flourishes and lives free from abuse. We work to break the cycle of domestic and family violence by transforming communities from within, empowering communities to prevent and respond to violence through practical, concrete action that creates lasting change.
Our work includes education, early intervention, and prevention – through our Walk the Talk program for students in years nine and ten; 14 crisis accommodation shelters that operate across NSW and VIC for women and children (90% of whom are fleeing domestic & family violence); four transitional housing safe havens for women 55+; social and affordable housing; essential wraparound support; outreach and recovery; and advocacy.
We support women of all ages, at all stages of their journey, and their accompanying children. In 2025, we supported 1,678 individuals to rebuild their lives safe, providing 70,277 bed nights of safety. Over 14 years, we have supported over 10,000 women and children to brighter, safer futures.
WCS are innovative leaders in the housing/homelessness and DFV sectors, and we recognise these issues as whole of society problems that require whole of community support.
