Project Summary
Gnarly Neighbours is dedicated to supporting young people (ages 6-25) experiencing socio-economic disadvantage and vulnerability in our community. Our organization aims to empower youth through various programs that foster community engagement, personal development, and health/wellbeing. Our expansion project seeks to broaden our reach and impact by introducing new initiatives tailored to address the specific needs of our target population.
The expansion includes the development of after-school programs, weekend workshops, and community events that focus on skill-building, mental health support, and economic development. These initiatives will provide a safe and supportive environment for young people to learn, grow, and thrive. Additionally, we plan to partner with local schools, healthcare providers, and businesses to create a network of support that addresses the holistic needs of our participants.
Our goal is to create opportunities that not only improve the immediate circumstances of these young individuals but also equip them with the skills and confidence to build a brighter future. By expanding our programs, Gnarly Neighbours aims to make a lasting positive impact on the community, fostering resilience and empowerment among our youth.
Project Outcomes
The expected outcomes of the Gnarly Neighbours program expansion are multifaceted and designed to create sustainable change within our community. By the end of the project, we anticipate significant increases in youth engagement, with a 30% growth in enrolment within the first year and enhanced participation in after-school and weekend activities, leading to a stronger sense of community and belonging among youth.
Participants will report improved mental health and wellbeing, measured through regular surveys and feedback sessions. Access to mental health resources and support will lead to a 20% reduction in reported cases of anxiety and depression among participants.
Youth will gain valuable skills through workshops and training sessions, improving their employability and future economic prospects. Partnerships with local businesses will provide internship and job opportunities, resulting in a 15% increase in youth employment rates within the community.
The project will strengthen community ties through collaborative events and initiatives, fostering a supportive network for young people. This will lead to long-term economic benefits as empowered youth contribute positively to the local economy, breaking the cycle of socio-economic disadvantage.
By achieving these outcomes, Gnarly Neighbours will contribute to the creation of a more resilient, empowered, and thriving community, where young people are equipped to overcome challenges and build successful futures.
