From the beach to the bush - Generocity Church has a range of diverse locations across reginal and rural Australia. We gather as part of our commitment to become more like Jesus Christ, with a determination to grow in courageous influence.
We are one church with a heart for reaching our communities for Jesus Christ. We're passionate about seeing lives transformed by the love of God and our hope is for every person to discover their identity in Him.
Our Focus Areas:
Community - No One Stands Alone.
We believe that life is done best in community, as the saying goes, "It takes a village to raise a child". We want to be a community of genuine believers who live as part of our community, in such a way that people will know us by the way we love each other. This is what true community looks like. It may look like sharing a meal at the table with others, or organising meals for someone in need, it may look like committing to praying for each other. This all happens best when we are in relationship, doing community well.
Discipleship - Engage, Establish, Equip, Empower.
Through all seasons and circumstances, we purposely place God at the centre of everything. And this is not a life to be lived alone - we're intentional about living a connected life, so that every person might discover their identity in Jesus Christ, grow in Him, and help others to grow. This means that the rhythms of our faith revolve around community, not just a Sunday.
Mission - Living A Life On Mission.
In our church, everyone is called to the mission field, and this mission field is right where we are standing. This may look different for every believer, but we take our cues from Jesus, He shows us the way to living on mission and it looks like caring for the marginalised, helping those in need, bringing the food news of unconditional love and hope and dignity to those who are captive, sick or oppressed.
Project Summary
Something we have noticed with the increase in the cost of living across NSW, is that food security is becoming harder and harder for families to achieve. People who are socio-economically disadvantaged are finding it more difficult to afford to feed their family.
This project is partnering with our Generocity Opportunity Shop to provide food for the community in the form of food bank non perishables as well as cold and frozen meals. We not only cater for their physical needs, but provide them with a free coffee and tea as well as welcoming face for them to have a yarn with, giving them a safe space for their social needs as well.
Project Outcomes
This project, alongside the Generocity Opportunity Shop, is aimed at giving our comunity a place for them to find value, dignity and hope for their futures. Our outcome would be that we would be able to provide foods for those in our community who are in need of low cost food. We currently open two days a week and aim to serve 15-20 families per day with non perishable food as well as cold and frozen meals. Currently our Community
Pantry has non perishable items, but through this project we aim to be able to provide cold and frozen meals. Currently our feedback from the community has been that they are wanting pre-packaged meals that require little to no preperation. These are hard to find in the non-perishable space, so having refrigeration and a freezer, we would be able to utilise our network of volunteers to fill them with fresh food and frozen meals.
