At Code Purple, we are a community-driven organization committed to providing life-saving support for families affected by domestic violence. We go beyond awareness, working tirelessly to ensure that victims not only have a voice but also receive the tangible assistance they need to rebuild their lives.

While raising awareness is vital, we believe that real change requires action. Our mission is to provide immediate, practical support to families fleeing violence. This includes helping survivors establish new homes, offering resources for children to heal from trauma, and securing essential funds for those who have lost everything. Operated by three volunteer directors, Code Purple works closely with local partners to deliver programs that fosters self-sufficiency and improve the well-being of our participants.

At Code Purple, we are dedicated to walking alongside courageous families, empowering them with the resources, care, and support they deserve. Together, we create a future where safety and dignity are a reality for all.

Project Summary

The Pathways to Empowerment project is a 12-month initiative designed to support women and youth impacted by domestic violence and homelessness. The project provides life skills workshops, financial literacy training, trauma-informed mental health counseling, and youth empowerment programs. Through these services, Code Purple Refuge Limited aims to help participants break the cycle of poverty and violence, fostering self-sufficiency and emotional resilience.

The project will benefit 30 women and 20 children, offering critical tools for long-term independence, including education on budgeting, employment readiness, and emotional well-being. The expected outcomes include improved mental health for 70% of participants and increased employability and academic success for 80% of youth involved. The project will run from October 2024 to September 2025 and requires $50,000 AUD in funding to cover program costs.

Project Outcomes

The Pathways to Empowerment project aims to achieve several key outcomes:
- Improved Employability and Education: By the end of the program, at least 15 individuals are expected to secure employment or pursue further education, providing them with the independence needed to escape the cycle of homelessness & domestic violence.
- Enhanced Emotional Well-being: With trauma-informed mental health counselling, we anticipate 70% of participants will experience improvements in their emotional & psychological health, equipping them with the resilience needed for personal recovery.
- Youth Success: For the children involved in the youth empowerment programs, 80% are expected to show significant improvements in emotional resilience & academic performance, laying a solid foundation for their future success.

These outcomes will be measured through participant feedback, pre- and post-program assessments, & ongoing progress tracking throughout the duration of the project.
