Project Summary

The Sydney Women’s Fund launched this campaign in May 2024 to address the domestic and sexual violence crisis and offer immediate support to 10 of our charity partners working across Greater Sydney. Your funding will reach the following charity partners:

Consent Labs will bring together educators, researchers and experts in consent education to co-design improved resources for educators; these resources will be piloted across the network of existing partner schools and evaluated before being implemented at scale.

Fair Agenda will fund targeted campaigning for the Australian Law Reform Commission process currently underway to address service gaps for victim-survivors of sexual violence, including access to forensic medical examinations and trauma counselling.

Hope and Heal will facilitate up to six weekend retreats and six Urban Retreats to help meet the increased demand.

Mudgin-Gal Women’s Centre will fund enhanced drop-in services; packs of essential items for women impacted by domestic violence; and empowerment workshops to break the cycle of violence and build resilience within the community.

Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter has invested in one specialist domestic violence support worker 4 days a week, dedicated to providing care to women in transitional housing, and with more funding hopes to employ one more case worker to meet the increase in demand.

ReLove will provide support for up to 200 women and their families to restart their lives by providing a full house of furniture and household items, delivered and set up in their homes the next day.

The Karen Iles Sexual Assault Victims Justice Fund will advocate for victim-survivors of domestic, family and sexual violence as well as fund part-time clinic manager to coordinate free legal representation for women who have been raped and/or sexually assaulted.

Top Blokes Foundation will partner with up to ten high schools on the waitlist across Sydney, to deliver 10 x 6-month mentoring programs over a 12-month period, supporting 240 young males and 4320 mentoring hours.

Weave Youth & Community Services will provide upgraded security plans for up to 20 women and their families, including lock changes, security cameras and doors, grocery vouchers and removalists costs.

Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre will fund a Healing and Recovery Coordinator to ensure women and children receive emergency psychological care and connection.

More information on each of these partners is providing via the link below.

Thanks to matched funding from major donors, every dollar donated is doubled up to $800,000.
