The Goulburn Valley Medical Workforce Fund aims to improve the health of the Goulburn Valley community through workforce capacity and development.
The Fund provides ‘Giz A Break I can & I will’ scholarships to students and practitioners and grants to organisations delivering recognised courses.
Scholarships for students accepted into allied health courses, nursing or medicine and medical graduates wishing to move into general practice. Students are eligible for scholarships for up to 2 years.
Scholarships for existing general practitioners, practice nurses and practice support staff. Eligible practitioners can apply for scholarships to increase their qualifications, skills, capacity and knowledge.
Grants for organisations that provide recognised training to general practitioners in the Goulburn Valley area.
Applications are open year. Giz A Break’s board assess applications at least once per quarter, and aim to disperse a minimum of $50,000 per annum.

The Goulburn Valley Medical Workforce Fund is a sub-fund of the Australian Communities Foundation. It is a non-tax-deductible charitable fund and grants are made to organisations and individuals for educational purposes.
