Strengthening Democracy Learning Circle

We are pleased to invite you to join the next Strengthening Democracy Learning Circle on creating an Australian Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.

We are the only western democracy without a Charter and the Human Rights Law Centre (HRLC) is determined to fix this. This is a fundamental protection for human rights as they apply to all people, and is vital in ensuring a healthy democracy that upholds the values of fairness, respect and compassion.

Please join us for an engaging conversation and learn about this bold, new project to transform Australia’s human rights landscape.

Tom Clarke (Director of Campaigns) and Ruth Barson (Legal Director) from the HRLC will share and discuss how the campaign will:

  • harness the power of the not-for-profit and legal sector
  • use the media for positive social change
  • bring communities together with a positive vision.
