The impacts of the climate crisis can be seen and felt all around us. As we look to the future, we cannot afford further inaction – bold effort is needed now.
A meaningful response to the climate crisis requires dramatic shifts in current climate policy to move collectively toward a future rooted in climate justice.
Changing Course: Setting an ambitious climate policy agenda through innovative climate initiatives
With rare political stability across state and federal governments, there is an opportunity for Australia to develop ambitious climate solutions.
Fortunately, there is already a strong foundation to build from, with innovative efforts already underway:
- ‘Big Ask’ climate solutions coalition campaign works to achieve greater government support for domestic decarbonisation, builds Australia’s capacity to be a clean energy superpower, and prepares us for quickly worsening climate impacts.
- Climate Integrity is a new advocacy project tackling greenwashing and driving accountability, standards, and regulation in business net zero pledges.
- 350.org Australia’s campaign aims to shift Australian politics by building a powerful social movement to finally end the age of coal and gas exports and usher in a new era of climate justice for all.
Join us at our next Learning Circle to explore:
- Three leading climate initiatives you might not have heard about
- How partnerships and collaborations can be leveraged to empower systemic policy change around climate
- How philanthropy can support/collaborate with those working on climate policy solutions to create powerful movements for systemic change.
