Resourcing movements and advocacy – The how and why for best-practice giving

Profile of Australian Communities Foundation
Hosted by Australian Communities Foundation
05 September 2024

Australian Communities Foundation’s flagship Impact Fund explores how best to achieve genuine and lasting change through philanthropy. Our work consistently shows that advocacy and movement building is key.

But change can take time. Many in our giving community know this from experience. Our Impact Fund community has contributed to some incredible wins for a more just Australia – often through long-term continued support of movements.

Ahead of this year’s Impact Fund Showcase in October, we are excited to host this special Learning Circle on the challenges and opportunities of movement building and advocacy philanthropy. This session will introduce you to this increasingly critical work before we come together to support movements through this year’s Impact Fund program.

Join us at this interactive session to:

  • Better understand what is meant by funding movements and advocacy
  • Learn how this giving strategy can achieve lasting change
  • Unpack the elements of best-practice philanthropy for this approach
  • Explore ways you can resource movements and campaigning beyond funding.
