PRIDE FOUNDATION AUSTRALIA 2026 LARGE GRANT ROUND – Supporting forcibly displaced LGBTQIA+ people

Pride Foundation Australia (PFA) is proud to announce their first large grant round for 2026 with a total funding pool of $20,000, with a focus on supporting sexuality, sex, and gender diverse (LGBTQIA+) people who have been forcibly displaced and residing in Australia.

Grant applications should be to the value of up to $20,000 over two years (if applicable).

PRIDE FOUNDATION AUSTRALIA

Pride Foundation Australia (PFA) is a national philanthropic foundation specifically focused on funding lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual and other (LGBTQIA+) community issues in Australia.

The Foundation advocates for systemic change to advance LGBTQIA+ equity and inclusion and provide direct support to affected communities/individuals.

PFA raises awareness of LGBTQIA+ disadvantage and works to increase philanthropic support for the Australian LGBTQIA+ and allied communities through fundraising, grant giving, collaboration and commissioning projects – prioritising funding to LGBTQIA+ communities traditionally underrepresented and under-resourced.

SUPPORTING FORCIBLY DISPLACED LGBTQIA+ PEOPLE

LGBTQIA+ focused means that projects must be specifically focused on people of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expression and/or sex characteristics.

Forcibly displaced people (FDP) are individuals who face forced / involuntary displacement due to persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations, natural disasters and seek safety across borders. This encompasses refugees, asylum seekers, or first-generation people born in Australia with a refugee background in their family.

PFA strongly encourages applicants to work with people with lived experience and relevant organisations. For example, if the applying organisation is FDP-focused, they should partner with LGBTQIA+ organisations.

Partnerships should be arranged prior to the full grant application being submitted, and ideally, supply of ‘letters of support’ would demonstrate the commitment and should be included in the grant application.

Before you apply, read the guidelines below or download here. Preview the EOI form here.
