
Soroptimist International Victoria Foundation’s 2025 Community Grant Round
The Soroptimist International Victoria Foundation (SIVF) Fund is proud to announce their Community Grant Round which will focus on supporting local and grassroot organisations across metropolitan and regional Victoria in which Soroptimist International Victoria Clubs (SIV Clubs) are situated.
In 2025, there is a total funding pool of $100,000 available and there will be up to 9 grants awarded.
This grant round will provide a number of one-off and multi-year grants, in which organisations can choose to apply for:
• One-off: grant of up to $20,000 (noting that the minimum threshold is $10,000); or
• Multi-year: grant of up to $20,000 per year for 3 years, total of $60,000 (noting that the minimum threshold is $10,000 per year)
This will be a grant round by invitation-only, where organisations must be nominated by SIV Clubs.

ABOUT Soroptimist international VICTORIA FOUNDATION FUND
The Soroptimist International Victoria Foundation Fund was established to support bold ideas, organisations and projects with high-impact potential in Victoria, consistent with the ethos and principles embedded by Soroptimist International, being:
The advancement of the status of women and children, in particular through the advancement of their education and prevention or relief of their poverty, distress or disadvantage; the advancement of human rights for all; the promotion of equality, development and peace; the advancement of understanding, goodwill and peace; and the promotion of high ethical standards.
Guidelines
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must fall within one of the following categories and meet the respective criteria:
• Organisations: must be an Australian registered charity with the ACNC or a Not-for-Profit with either an Incorporation Certificate and/or an ABN. DGR 1 status and/or an auspicing arrangement is not required.
• Individual(s) or community group: must be a citizen or permanent resident, or a community group that is operating in Victoria.
• School(s): must be registered with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) and be published on the VRQA State Register.
Types of projects and activities that are ineligible:
• Activities that are partisan or religious in nature.
• Retrospective activities (activities that have already occurred).
• General fundraising activities for an organisation.
• Sporting activities that do not also have a focus on alleviating disadvantage.
• For-profit organisations where activities are not charitable.
Funding considerations
This funding should support local organisations who are addressing at least one of the following areas within their communities:
• Enabling education and training pathways
• Mental health and wellbeing
• Community building
SIVF Fund will look to prioritise funding to organisations working with and supporting women and children, particularly those who are vulnerable (i.e. experiencing or at risk of homelessness, victim-survivors of gendered violence) in addition to newly arrived migrants and refugees.
Things to consider
Attending events:
The successful grant partners will be invited to attend the Soroptimist International Victoria Foundation’s launch event planned for mid November (to be held in metropolitan Melbourne – the location is yet to be confirmed). The SIVF team would expect a representative from the organisation to attend this event.
Reporting back:
• One-off grant: successful grant partners will be required to submit a six monthly progress report and a final acquittal at the end of the grant period
• Multi-year grant: successful grant partners will be required to submit six monthly progress reports and an annual progress report prior to receiving subsequent instalments. A final acquittal is also due at the end of the grant period.

Timeframes
- Applications timeframe: Open Monday, 18 August – Close 5pm AEST Thursday, 25 September 2025
- Shortlisting process: from 26 September – late October 2025
- Grant partner announced: late October 2025
- Grant paid: from late October / early November 2025 onwards
Please note: All applications must be submitted in full with all supporting documentation by 5pm AEST or AEDT, depending on the time of year, on the closing date. Any incomplete applications or applications received after 5pm will be treated as ineligible.
