Barnardos Australia is here because every child needs a champion. Since 1921, we have worked with families and communities to overcome poverty, violence and homelessness so children are safe at home. We listen, act and advocate for the individual needs of every child. Our vision is to empower every child in Australia to reach their full potential.

When children and their families need support, Barnardos walks that journey with them. We build strong community connections, so children, young people and families are never isolated or alone. Families only need to tell their story once to access a range of flexible, coordinated supports through our local Barnardos centres.

Our services include domestic and family violence support, early childhood education, family crisis assistance, mental health support, temporary accommodation, parent education, counselling, foster care and open adoption. Our evidence-informed practice and dedicated workers and carers ensure children receive the safety, care and stability they need.
