The Centre for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees (CARAD) is a not-for-profit in Western Australia providing essential needs to those seeking humanitarian protection. CARAD provides support to people who are denied a liveable income and restricted from various social supports, resulting in severe financial hardship and acute and chronic vulnerability.

CARAD has worked to find its clients safe housing, food and healthcare since 2000. Through specialised welfare and advocacy assistance, CARAD caseworkers and volunteers have provided over 5,000 clients tailored and holistic services in Western Australia including:

  • Social inclusion
  • Advocacy
  • Education/tutoring
  • Detention visiting
