ChillOut Festival is Australia’s premier regional LGBTQIA+ pride event, held annually in Daylesford, Victoria — over the Labour Day long weekend in March.
From humble beginnings in 1997, ChillOut Festival has grown to become Australia’s largest and longest running queer country pride festival. Attracting over 30K+ visitors to the region across the festival weekend.
As a mature organisation, we recognise that we need to be more than just a festival. We have achieved charity status with DGR-1 endorsement. We have 2 programs that support our LGBTIQA+ community and as a NFP organisation, for these programs to flourish, we need some assistance.
Raising Rainbows supports our youth by installing flag poles in their schools and raising a Rainbow flag. This allows them to feel accepted to some degree in their schools. Education is provided to the schools about how they can support these student.
Grove of Gratitude is a space in Daylesford, where, with help from the council, we are able to plant trees to celebrate people who have had an impact on the LGBTIQA+ community.
As an organisation, we now want to expand these projects and look at other areas we can help such as the Aged, Dis-abled and First Nations.
