Royal Life Saving Society South Australia (RLSSA) is a leading not-for-profit organisation with a proud 115-year legacy in South Australia and over 125 years of national heritage. We are committed to reducing drowning and promoting the safe enjoyment of aquatic environments through education, training, advocacy, and community engagement.
Our mission is to empower everyday people to become everyday community lifesavers—equipping individuals with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to prevent water-related incidents in their homes, workplaces, and communities. Our approach is inclusive, community-driven, and focused on reaching populations that are often underserved, particularly those outside major metropolitan areas.
RLSSA’s work spans a broad range of focus areas, including water safety education, lifesaving training, health promotion, aquatic risk management, community development, research, leadership, lifesaving sport, and international partnerships. As a Registered Training Organisation, we also provide accredited qualifications that create pathways into employment within the aquatic and recreation industry.
Through strategic partnerships and locally tailored programs, RLSSA continues to foster water-safe communities across South Australia, ensuring that lifesaving skills are accessible to all—regardless of age, background, or ability.
