Teach Us Consent

Teach Us Consent is a global not-for-profit organisation dedicated to eradicating normalised sexual violence. We put consent, respect, and empathy at the heart of sex education. Over 1 in 5 Australian women have been assaulted since the age of 15 (ABS, 2023). The latest ACMS (2023) reveals a troubling increase in sexual abuse by adolescents toward other adolescents.

We believe sexual violence is not inevitable, it’s preventable. And we believe that young people can lead this change.

Our Work:

• Teacher and parent resources: Holistic consent and healthy relationships content for educational spaces and family environments.
• Free online education materials: Responsive content co-created with youth and experts, designed to be relatable and understandable to young people.
• Policy advocacy: Engagement with state and federal government leaders on consent policies and legislation; identifying legislative ‘leverage points’ where small changes can have outsized impact.

Our Impact:

• More than 20 million people reached in Australia and around the world, with meaningful conversations and education around consent.
• Mandated consent education in all Australian schools from K-10.
• Delivered a world-leading consent education campaign, with a reach of 3.3 million men and 2.9 million women in just 6 weeks, and 14 million impressions.
• Partnered with Federal and state/territory governments to consult on legislative and regulatory pieces, including the criminalisation of stealthing in most Australian states and territories.
