The Black Swan Charity is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders across Australia.
Founded by a family who navigated the challenges of anorexia nervosa and barriers to recovery first-hand, the Black Swan was built with the vision that everyone may have equal opportunity to access help for an eating disorder. Our work is grounded in three pillars – access, awareness and connection. We advocate for access by allocating our resources directly to those in need of financial assistance to get treatment for an eating disorder and strive to enhance awareness by initiating open and destigmatised conversations and educating the community about eating disorders. We understand the feeling of isolation that accompanies an eating disorder and work to help individuals and their families feel connected through offering personalised support and guidance to finding professional help. We offer an authentic insight and unwavering commitment to this complex health issue that affects people of all ages and backgrounds across Australia and focus on enhancing prospects of recovery and creating meaningful, lasting change.
