Wildlife Recovery Australia operates dedicated wildlife hospitals, rehabilitation centres and specialist sanctuaries to create positive welfare outcomes for sick, injured and orphaned native Australian animals.
Our mission is to conserve, protect and ensure positive welfare outcomes for Australian wildlife through treatment, rehabilitation, research and education. In just under 5 years, we’ve treated over 10,000 sick, injured and orphaned native animals, with nearly 40% successfully rehabilitated or released.
Our key assets include:
- Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital HQ, Lennox Head: The North Coast’s first all-species wildlife hospital will begin operating from a permanent, bricks-and-mortar veterinary facility from Monday 11th August, where we will continue providing expert veterinary care to wildlife rescuers and members of the public, completely free of charge, seven days a week.
- Byron Bay Raptor Recovery Centre, Ewingsdale: A state-of-the-art facility which provides expert care and long-term rehabilitation for sick, injured, and orphaned birds of prey.
- Wildlife Recovery Australia Mobile Hospital (Matilda): Australia’s only mobile wildlife hospital, supporting field work, research, education, and rapid response during natural disasters.
