I’m passionate about…
I am passionate about inspiring people to give where they can – whether that is funding, advocacy, or specialised skills and volunteer time. I want to hear about your giving journey; what connects you to purpose and motivates you to continue giving.
I am personally passionate about funding medical research, especially for rare diseases. I am a breast cancer survivor and a beneficiary of treatment that has been generously funded over decades. I am grateful to researchers who dedicate their lives to novel ideas and donors who funded potentially risky ideas. I want to live in a world where folk with rare diseases also experience the certainty that comes with successful treatment options.
My experience
I have experience working in both not-for-profit and philanthropic funding. I have worked in operational support roles predominantly in the International Development sector, including World Vision Australia, Red Cross, and Burnet Institute. More recently I have worked in charitable trust administration and grantmaking in roles at State Trustees Australia Foundation, Epworth Medical Foundation, and National Heart Foundation. I love compliance, systems, and spreadsheets, and enjoy doing the ‘boring’ parts of the process that make the magic of philanthropy happen.
