Arise Foundation (AF) is an award-winning organisation providing innovative programs to women DFV survivors across Australia, breaking the cycle of homelessness and intergenerational violence and reducing the risk of returning to abusive relationships by equipping women with the skills and confidence to attain financial independence through employment.
AF addresses employment outcomes for women DFV survivors through a comprehensive, tailored approach:
• Job Placement: Our DFV-specialised, trauma-informed employment coach, works one-on-one with women to secure suitable job placements. In 2023, 81% of our Employment Ready Program graduates obtained either internships, work experience, paid employment or pursued education with guaranteed employment.
• Skill Development necessary for Employment: Our signature Employment Ready Program (with modules including, empowerment and wellbeing, financial literacy and foundational work skills), along with pre-employment English and Digital Literacy training, equips women with essential job skills. This directly improves their employability and job-readiness.
• Employer Partnerships: We’ve cultivated relationships with employment partners across various industries, this includes our cadetship program with Wotton & Kearney, Allianz, and Healthshare NSW, creating direct pathways to job opportunities for our clients.
• Barrier Removal: We provide free laptops, WiFi, and childcare support, removing common barriers that prevent women from seeking or maintaining employment.
• Ongoing Support: Our recovery case worker assists clients with day-to-day challenges, ensuring they can focus on maintaining employment once placed.
• Industry Diversity and Entrepreneurship Support: We’ve successfully placed women in various sectors including early childhood, aged care, hospitality, and administrative roles, and offer self-employment support, ensuring diverse employment options.
