Art Education Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation supporting visual arts and generalist educators across Victorian schools. Our mission is to empower educators with the professional learning, networks, mentorship and the resources they need to thrive. Our vision is for arts education to be valued, well-resourced, and accessible to every student. In 2026 and 2027 we are launching new student-centred programs ensuring all students have the opportunity to be creative.
Victorian art educators face compounding pressures: specialist isolation, chronic underfunding, and the de-professionalisation of the arts. Ongoing curriculum changes continue to marginalise arts education in primary settings, placing this community at risk of burnout. When educators struggle, the impact flows directly to students.
Funding will support our capacity to deliver accessible, evidence-informed programs and resilience tools. Our current priorities include expanding access to professional learning for regional and early career educators, developing curriculum-aligned resources, and strengthening organisational sustainability.
We have trusted relationships with the educator community across early childhood, primary, secondary, tertiary, gallery, museum, and not-for-profit settings, and a strong track record of delivering high-quality professional learning. Our programs include KickstART (in partnership with the National Gallery of Victoria), the Re-assemble Conference (in partnership with RMIT University and Federation University), the Secondary Symposium (in partnership with Monash University), and the ‘Bridges Between Us’ Art Project – a statewide a project in partnership with the Victorian Department of Education.
ArtEdVic holds DGR1 status.
