Asian Australians for Climate Solutions

Asian Australians for Climate Solutions (AAFCS) is a community-led organisation empowering Asian-Australians to take action on climate change through connection, education, and leadership. We are Australia’s only Asian-led environmental organisation, dedicated to closing the gap in representation and engagement within the national climate movement.

Our vision is for a just, inclusive, and climate-safe Australia where Asian communities are informed, represented, and leading on solutions. Our mission is to mobilise Asian-Australians to drive collective climate action grounded in cultural values of care, responsibility, and resilience.

Asian-Australians make up 20% of the population yet are often absent from climate discussions and policy influence. AAFCS bridges this gap by drawing on our shared cultures, languages, and lived experiences to build trust and normalise climate action. Through workshops, festivals, ethnic media, and policymaker engagement, we strengthen leadership and activate solutions on issues like energy equity and heatwave resilience.

Our current priorities include building long-term engagement, capacity, and culturally safe spaces to grow Asian-Australian climate leaders and foster sustained advocacy; making climate action tangible through programs on energy, food, and cost of living; and ensuring multicultural voices shape climate policy and advocacy.

Our impact includes a 2025 Federal Election campaign reaching 10 electorates, the People’s Delegation to Canberra calling for stronger climate targets, and South Australia’s first Mid-Autumn Climate Festival engaging 500+ attendees.

Funding will strengthen our capacity to maintain momentum in NSW, VIC, and SA; where we’ve built strong networks; and expand into WA and QLD; Australia’s most diverse and fastest-growing states.
